Large Banners for End-of-Year Celebrations: Printing Ideas for Parties & Events

Posted 6 October 2026

The end of the year is full of get-togethers. Office Christmas parties, awards nights, club presentations, charity dinners, school events and big birthday bashes all land in the same few weeks. A large printed banner is one of the easiest ways to make a hired room or a sports hall actually feel like your event.

Here are a few ideas that work well, and some tips so it looks right on the day.

A Photo Wall Everyone Will Use

Every party ends up with a queue of people wanting photos, so give them somewhere decent to stand. A backdrop banner printed with your logo, the event name or a repeating pattern makes a great photo wall, and you’ll see it in everyone’s pictures for weeks after.

If you want something that looks really smooth in photos, a fabric tension display stretches the print over a lightweight frame so there are no creases or wrinkles. You can order the print on its own or with the frame.

Backdrops For The Stage

If there’s a stage, a top table or a spot where awards get handed out, that’s where people will be looking for most of the night. Stage backdrops are printed on polyester to any size and finished with eyelets or pole pockets, depending on how the venue lets you hang things. Always check with the venue first, some have fixing points and some don’t.

Welcome Banners At The Entrance

A big welcome banner by the door tells guests they’re in the right place and sets the tone before they’ve even taken their coat off. For outdoors or anywhere it might get wet, use a PVC banner. They’re weatherproof and come with hems and eyelets included. Inside, a roller banner is easier still because there’s nothing to hang.

Getting The Size And Artwork Right

Measure the space before you order. It sounds obvious but it’s the thing that catches people out most. A banner that looked huge on screen can look lost on a big wall, so it’s usually worth going a bit bigger then you first think. Our PVC, fabric and backdrop banners are priced per square metre, so you can enter your exact size on the product page and see the price straight away.

Large prints show up every flaw in low quality images. If your logo is a small file pulled from a website or a social media profile, it’ll probably look blurry at banner size. Our artwork guidelines cover the file types and sizes that work best, and our free online design tool will warn you if an image is too low resolution before you order.

One more thing. If you leave the date off, the same banner can come out again next year, which is handy for annual awards nights and club dinners.

When To Order

Banners and backdrops usually take 7 to 8 working days, with orders placed by 12pm starting the same day. December fills up fast, so it’s worth ordering as soon as you’ve got a date and a venue. We deliver across the UK, free on orders over £65 or £4.50 below that.
